The command should be ivtvctl --set-yuv-mode=mode=1
That's really an easy solution to a complex problem ! Thanks a lot, it works flawlessly now ! Now a last thing, I have heard there was a trick to allow fullscreen xorg programs not to be partially hidden by the tv borders. There was a link somewhere in the wiki, but it seems dead now. So if someone remembers this trick...
