I am having trouble kick-starting my PVR-150 card. I am not new to
linux, but I am new to using it as anything more than an environment
for compiling science code, so hardware interfaces are not my thing.
Any specific steps would be very much appreciated!!!

I have followed ivtv installation instructions for Ubuntu Edgy
(help.ubuntu.com/community/INSTALL_IVTV_Edgy, where I was directed by
ivtvdriver.org) ivtv seems to be installed fine, and the computer
does see the card, but the card does not seem to be loaded by ivtv.

lspci -v yields:

00:0b.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Unknown device 5b7a
         Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc. Unknown device 7404
         Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 5
         Memory at 10000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [disabled]
[size=64M]
         Capabilities: <access denied>

ivtv does indeed show up as a loaded module.

The firmware is installed, and ls /lib/firmware/v4l*fw -l yields:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 262144 2007-03-02 21:13 /lib/firmware/v4l-
cx2341x-dec.fw
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 262144 2007-03-02 21:13 /lib/firmware/v4l-
cx2341x-enc.fw
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  14264 2006-10-25 23:31 /lib/firmware/v4l-
cx25840.fw

dmesg yields:

[ 3528.321622] Linux video capture interface: v1.00
[ 3528.384294] ivtv:  ==================== START INIT IVTV
====================

mailinglist.
[ 3528.386400] ivtv:  ====================  END INIT IVTV
====================

If you have any ideas for how to get ivtv to see the card, or any
links that I should check out (although I've been surfing like
crazy!), I would be very appreciative!

Thanks!
Kelli
