I have had no success with getting both my NOVA-T-500 DVB card and my PVR-150 to work (can only load either DVB or IVTV, but not both - refer below).
I understand that IVTV is now merged into DVB, so I downloaded the latest
DVB from linuxtv.org, make clean ivtv, make distclean, unload, removed ivtv
sources. Then rebuilt linuxtv, which does include ivtv.ko.
So far, so good. However, when the machine starts, I still get the same
issue - first, dvb-usb loads successfully, then ivtv fails to load with a
bunch of unrecognised symbols. Forcing with modprobe -f also fails with
the same error.
Question I have is: Is the merging of ivtv into dvb still WIP, and this
issue will be resolved in the future, or am I doing something wrong / have
bad configuration ? If the former, I'd be happy to contribute my time to
the resolution. If the latter, would appreciate any help / pointers.
Many thanks.
Kind regards, Andre

Re: [ivtv-users] IVTV Problem with
DVB LinuxTV(Document link: Andre
von Roznowski)
Hi
have tried all sorts of things; can't get ivtv to work together with
LinuxTV. Any help would be appreciated.
Have a Hauppauge PVR-150 AND a Hauppauge Nova-T-500 dual-tuner DVB card
Before I installed the LinuxTV drivers for the DVB card - Nova-T-500
(v4l-dvb-c135ea8b32b2) - the ivtv driver loaded without a hitch.
After installing LinuxTV, ivtv will no longer load.
During boot, the ivtv is loaded after the Nova-T-500 drivers (dvb-usb,
dib7000, etc)
Problem exists on both 2.6.16 and 2.6.18 (SuSE 10.1 and 10.2)
Using latest 0.6.6 for 2.6.16 and 0.8.2 for 2.6.18 kernels
HW is x86_64 AMD Sempron.
ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard.
during boot, the Nova-T-500 driver loads first without problem:
dmesg
usb 2-1: Manufacturer: Hauppauge
dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in cold state, will try
to load a firmware
dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in warm state.
DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T).
DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T).
dvb-usb: Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T successfully initialized and
connected.
Then, ivtv is loaded but fails wit the following dmesg:
