The default is (or at least as of the last Xen kernel I tried) 2M  
unless your machine has massive amounts of RAM (>2G is the threshold,  
=2G will result in a 2M swiotlb like it does in my box).

swiotlb=64 without the force option works for me in dom0 on an AMD64  
machine with a PVR-500.

Running in a domU needs all that PCI redirection stuff, which I have  
never experimented with.  (I now use Xen so that I could install  
trixbox without nuking and repaving my Gentoo installation.)
