OK,

Checked a bit more. Playing a downloaded movie gives about 33% CPU load.
Playing a recorded movie uses about 80-90% load, and as said stutters
like mad. I guess the verdict is that Ronald is right: the Epia
EX10000EG is not strong enough to decode mpeg2 via CPU cycles, it
needs the graphical processor to do at least some of the work.

Ronald, What tv-card do you have? Could you expand a bit on the need
to recompile libdrm? I have libdrm installed. the modules via and drm
are loaded. I checked xorg.log. X seems fine with it. What is the
meaning of this procedure?

Regards,

Bert

Only two things are infinite:
human stupidity and the universe,
and I'm not sure about the latter.
