This was only happening if you capture from /dev/video24 and /dev/vbi0. > While reading stuff on the wiki it seems that there has been alot > of code refactoring in 0.10.x, would it be safer to run an earlier > version of the driver? Correct, ivtv 0.10.x and 1.x are the versions actively being developed and supported. > If anyone knowledgeable about ivtv could explain what the symptoms > 0.10.5 fixed I would really appreciate it. If you do not capture the raw pcm audio device this fix does not apply to you. > Is there a way to get ivtv driver itself to log debug level info to > narrow things down at all? Yes, use ivtvctl -D #. See below the numbers. 1: WARN 2: INFO 4: API 8: DMA 16: IOCTL 32: I2C 64: IRQ 128: DEC 256: YUV 512: High Volume msgs > [ 20.609573] ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV > ==================== > [ 20.609579] ivtv: version 0.10.1 (tagged release) loading I really would recommend upgrading to 0.10.5. There have been many fixes since 0.10.1 (change log [1]). The rest of the init looks fine.
