In the 5.5 days since I turned on the extra debugging, I've
generated 25 to 50 MB of ivtv logs per day, and had no DMA
errors at all.

Is it possible that there is a timing problem or race condition
that is being fixed by the extra work of debug logging?

(I'm not complaining, mind you.)
