This problem shouldn't exist for cx18 and HVR-1600 cards with an IR blaster BTW. cx18 has I2C slave reset code with card specific assert/recover delays in the cx18 driver. I guess I really should send Hans a patch to add some reset code in ivtv for all the I2C bus devices at startup similar to cx18. On the to-do list I guess...
