Geoff, I've pored over that page a number of times. And to me, it is not at all obvious that latest-revision will do what I want it to do: 1. While "dev" is assigned "-1", will that also be applied to "DEV" (case-insensitive) and "-DEV" with a hyphen prefix? 2. Where does it say anything about how to negotiate between "-DEV" and "-DEV-timestamp"?
I'm afraid that eventually I will just need to write an integration test and ascertain this for myself--which is a shame because having to do so presents a barrier to entry. > Date: Mon, 1 Nov 2010 08:28:43 +1300 > Subject: Re: latest strategy question > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > > Look like it should just work (to me) > > http://ant.apache.org/ivy/history/latest-milestone/settings/latest-strategies.html > > <http://ant.apache.org/ivy/history/latest-milestone/settings/latest-strategies.html> > > On Mon, Nov 1, 2010 at 7:07 AM, Max Reider <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > I want to have a latest strategy that sorts versions as follows from latest > > to earliest: > > 1. 2.0 > > 2. 2.0-DEV > > 3. 2.0-DEV-20101031101932 (later timestamp) > > 4. 2.0-DEV-20100920120000 (earlier timestamp) > > > > Will this work out of the box, or will I need to define a custom latest > > strategy to make this work, or will I need to tweak the built-in > > latest-revision in some way?
