Hola: La revista “El profesional de la información” estrenará este próximo año 2011 su difusión dentro del paquete ALJC (ALPSP Learned Journals Collection).
La ALPSP (1972-) agrupa 360 editores en 36 países, que publican un total de 10.000 revistas. En general los socios somos editoriales pequeñas (aunque también están las grandes como Elsevier, Emerald, Springer, Swets, Ebsco, etc.). Para hacer frente a la estrategia de “big deals” de las grandes editoriales, en 2003 ALPSP se puso de acuerdo con Swets para distribuir el paquete ALJC, que en esta edición de 2011 cuenta con 1.014 revistas, entre ellas por primera vez EPI, sin ningún tipo de embargo. Veremos cómo nos va. Como mínimo nos va a garantizar más difusión. Económicamente tenemos una salvaguarda de 3 años que nos compensará las pérdidas por las posibles bajas de las instituciones suscritas a ALJC que están suscritas a EPI directamente. With a total of 1014 titles, the 2011 collection claims to be the largest to date, offering libraries access to an unparalleled wealth of high quality electronic content in an affordable manner. There are 7 new publishers making their content available within the 2011 collection, bringing 35 titles with them. These are: Atlantis Press; El Profesional de la Informacion; OULA - Ottawa United Learning Academy; SNM - Society of Nuclear Medicine; The Clay Minerals Society; Science Reviews 2000; and Pier Professional. Nine subject-specific sub collections are available alongside the 2011 main collection, providing greater flexibility for those libraries interested in specific sections of the overall collection. Initiated by ALPSP in 2003, the ALJC is a unique cooperation that enables smaller and medium-sized publishers to sell their titles effectively to consortia and other library customers. The range of content from the ALJC is supplied to customers through a single umbrella license, pricing model and delivery platform. The complex licensing and legal structure of this cross-publisher initiative is coordinated by Swets, who also service the worldwide sales, marketing and online content access channels for the Collection.
