This bug seems to have been noticed and fixed in Eclipse's XML schema validator,
perhaps the same solution would work here?

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/long_list.cgi?buglist=47488

Here's the solution described on that page (BTW, I didn't come up with this I
found it while googling)

"I'm changing the code which computes the DFA returned by XSDParticle.getDFA so
that if the content model is too large to construct a DFA, an approximate
version will be created, i.e., one that treats large <all> groups as <choice
maxOccurs="unbounded"> and that treats large maxOccurs as equivalent to
"unbounded". This will allow the schema to be fully vaildated but will provide
only an approximate DFA. XSDParticle.DFA.isApproximate will be added to detect
that you don't have a fully accurrate DFA."
