In July we (the committers) agreed [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] to move to a common
serialization codebase with Xalan. Now that the DOM L3 code has been committed
to Xalan SVN (see XALANJ-2050) it's now time to move to the common serializer
and deprecate Xerces' native one.
