Mukul Gandhi reassigned XERCESJ-1518:
-------------------------------------
Assignee: (was: Mukul Gandhi)
I'm removing my assignment from this bug, since I don't seem to be in a
position to confidently apply the latest patch (though the latest patch seems
to solve the problem mentioned, but I can't decide confidently whether it's
correct as per the existing design within Xerces). @ Michael, Khaled: would you
please look into this issue, and assign it to someone (or to yourself) who
knows this part within Xerces better.
> Forward references to types etc are not subject to whitespace normalization.

> If, say, an element references its type and the element is lexically before
> the type then the type may fail to resolve if the type name contains
> whitespace. This will happen for all cross references as they are handled
> similarly. I'll attach a patch with a test and simple fix shortly.
