I've started pulling the pieces together so I can test and tweak.
Sanity check: Which version of Java are we officially (a) compiling
under and (b) compiling for? I currently have OpenJDK 11 and 19
installed. As checked out, the head branch's build says it's expecting
folks to use Java 1.3; the earliest version 11 can be told to compile
for is 1.6.
Which branch/fork is the current release candidate?

Hi Gary,
I've had a private conversation with Joseph Kessselman (I'm copying
this mail to him as well) few days ago, where he kindly wrote to me
that, he'd like to fix the XalanJ implementation and tests build for
Linux for the XalanJ 2.7.3 release.
I believe that, we should wait for his work on that, for using that
within XalanJ 2.7.3 release.
