Location : San Diego, CA Duration : 3 - 6 Months Rate : $45/hr c-c MUST: - Exp in Wicket exp (presentation layer) Position Description Client is looking for a skilled and experienced software engineer. Candidate will be an adaptable self-starter with a desire to collaborate with the team and contribute ideas to ensure a successful product. Candidate will be an experienced J2EE developer capable of working with all levels of applications from client-side HTML scripting to database SQL. Candidate will be familiar with web app architecture. Responsibilities . Troubleshoot, develop and unit test J2EE apps. Apps include a web app for internal use, external customer, and an app for data interchange with health care plans, banks, and other partners. . Document the design and operations of systems. . Be a hard-working, adaptable problem solver with good communication skills. Required Skills, Education and Experience . Understanding of software engineering principles and object oriented design. . Experience with development in an agile development environment. . Understanding of Java/J2EE technologies including EJBs. . Proven experience with front-end user interfaces and JSP programming techniques including HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS. . SQL experience and good understanding of SQL basics. . Proficiency in troubleshooting and detail-oriented problem diagnosis. . Good communication and technical writing skills. . Ability to work closely with a small team in a collaborative environment. . BS Computer Science or equivalent. . Minimum two years of relevant experience. Desired Skills, Education and Experience . Knowledge of Oracle databases, stored procedures and PL/SQL. . Understanding of Hibernate, XML, Apache, and JBoss. . Experience with Linux. . Experience with EDI, XML, and data transformation processes. . Experience with Crystal Reports, Jasper Reports, or another reporting framework. . Understanding and Experience with data warehouse applications. . Experience performing application builds and deployments to Linux using ANT build tools.
