I have a contract role for an NYC e-commerce company. They are targeting an Oracle DBA with some SQL Server experience.
Take a look at the description and let me know if you have and LOCAL consultants available. *Please send consultants at most marketable rate.* *Interview: Phone screen and then a Face to Face* *Responsibilities:* - Administration and maintenance of all *ORACLE and SQL Server Database systems.* - Build highly scalable and available *Oracle and SQL Server DB systems* - System Documentation and implementation of Database and Security best practices - Troubleshoot any system issues and work with other IT teams to resolve in a timely manner. - Interact closely with the development teams and provide guidance and assistance as needed. - Review and Deploy code to all database systems. - On call support during off hours and weekends (on rotation). *Requirements:* *Oracle* - *7+ years experience as an Oracle DBA* supporting databases requiring 99.999% uptime. - Expertise in installation and administration multi-node ORACLE RAC systems - Experience in application of database patches and DB upgrades. - Expertise of Oracle Data Guard (physical and logical) - Experience in backup/recovery using *RMAN* - Ability to write tuned SQL, including *PL/SQL stored procedures* and packages - Ability to use AWR and ASH to perform diagnostics and tuning *SQL Server* - 3*+ years experience with SQL Server* Administration - Experience in upgrading *SQL Server from prior versions to SQL 2008 or SQL 2012* - Experience working with Windows/SQL Clusters – Geo cluster would be a plus - Expertise in SQL Server Performance tuning using DMVs, Windows Resource Monitor, Performance monitor and SQL Profiler. - Ability to implement and support various topologies of SQL Server replication with in depth knowledge of Transactional replication. - Working knowledge of CDC, Database Mirroring and LogShipping. *Combined* - Experience supporting mission critical high volume systems – Oracle and SQL Server. - Working knowledge of built in OS tools for monitoring and troubleshooting system performance. - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving various performance issues and tuning. - Ability to design and implement Disaster recovery for both Oracle and SQL Server Systems. - Ability to provide 24x7 support (on rotation).
