Greetings,

I've set up jabberd2 2.2.16 on FreeBSD 8.3. Clients can connect. Incoming S2S
connections do work but outgoing S2S connections do not work.

The software does not seem to do any DNS lookups for outgoing S2S traffic and
tcpdump does not show outgoing traffic on port 5269. TCP connections get
established when I use telnet to connect to these servers on port 5269.
Therefore I don't think that it is a firewall issue.

These debug messages seem relevant:

    router.c:449 unicast route from sm to <whatever server>
    router.c:487 <whatever server> is unbound, and no default route, bouncing

Uncommenting these lines in router.xml did not help:

    <acl type='default-route'>
      <user>s2s</user>
    </acl>

DNS resolving does work. So I do not think that that is the problem.

I am kind of stuck. Any ideas where to look or what may be wrong here?
