Hi,

I have the following problem with how author names appear in bibtex files
managed by jabref.

Old versions of Jabref would write author names in a way that creates
problems for natbib:
{F}irstname {I} {L}astname and {F}irstname {G} {S}econdauthor and ... etc.

This has been fixed, and now the latest betas do the right thing:
{L}astname, {F}irstauthor {I} and {S}econdauthorlastname, {F}irstname {G}
and ... etc

Now, how do I fix databases that were generated with old versions of jabref?

I see that there is a 'Clean up' option in the 'Tools' menu, which offers
me a variety of automated actions to perform on selected entries ...
however I can see how it would be difficult to fix how authors names appear
solely based on the current (wrong) representation ... so perhaps the best
way to do this is to re-issue a search & import action.

Almost all my entries are imported from PubMed/MEDLINE, and so they have
their own PMID unique identifier in the bibtex file.

Is there a way to easily do this in jabref?

If I could export all PMIDs, that would give me a way to batch download all
entries, however this field is not present when I export my databases to
.csv ... any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Get your SQL database under version control now!
Version control is standard for application code, but databases havent
caught up. So what steps can you take to put your SQL databases under
version control? Why should you start doing it? Read more to find out.
