Oliver, I thought I responded to this yesterday. The openjfx is available for only 64-bit processors and my current desktop has a 32-bit CPU. Ergo, I cannot build and install it here. So, since jabref-3.8.2 works well for me I'll continue using this version until I replace the desktop.
