Sorry for late reply. First class support for GitHub user and maintainer wise - minimum hassle and configuration. You can use markdown, link pull requests, issues etc, no need for a new user (reuse GitHub). More important, most Java OSS projects use it (spring-boot, spring-data, spring-security, hibernate, reactor...).
I suggest you take 10 minutes and take a look at those projects, most also use gitter badge on their project etc. On Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 4:45:16 AM UTC+1, Tatu Saloranta wrote: > > One question on this: what are the benefits over, say, Irc or Slack? > There is actually #jackson irc channel at freenode (where I > occasionally join, although not very often). > > -+ Tatu +- > > On Thu, Jan 19, 2017 at 10:17 PM, Lovro Pandzic <[email protected]> > wrote: > > The reason I suggested gitter is that many java projects use it (spring, > > hibernate) and for login you only need github account. > > > > On Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:50:32 AM UTC+1, Jochen Schalanda > wrote: > >> > >> Just my 2 cents: > >> > >> We've been using Matrix (via https://riot.im/) for Dropwizard > >> (https://riot.im/app/#/room/%23dropwizard:matrix.org) and Graylog > >> (https://riot.im/app/#/room/%23graylog:matrix.org) and are reasonably > happy > >> with it. > >> > >> It supports integration with Gitter.im and IRC, so nobody is left out. > ;-) > >> > >> Cheers, > >> Jochen > >> > >> Am 19.01.2017 um 09:37 schrieb Lovro Pandzic <[email protected]>: > >> > >> Sorry, I forgot to provide a concrete example.
