Hi all, I started on the first jallib application: a 16f88 controller that connects to an lcd in 4-bit mode. It has two separate interfaces, serial input and i2c, that can be used to control the display attached. And there will be a lcd_ library that links hf44780_common to this controller, just like the 4-bit or 8-bit interface we already have.
- I choose for 16f88 and not the usual sample setup because I also want to add pwm for backlite control, so there are not that many chips available (and why wouldn't one use the 16f88 for this app). - Like I said, I want to add backlite control. My idea is to use add a function lcd_backlite_pwm() that accept a byte and lcd_backlite that accepts a bit. And (at least the latter) should be part of the other lcd libs too (using optional compile). Agree? - Where should we put this app? In the sample directory? Tools? Let me know what you think of this.
