Hi guys,
It's been a while since no release, now the time has come ! Jaluino 0.2 is
available from download section of Google Code project:
http://code.google.com/p/jaluino/downloads/list
Jaluino is a project aimed to provide Arduino-like boards, based on modern
PICs (18 serie), and powered by jalv2 and jallib.
This release includes a new IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
dedicated to Jaluino project, but also usable for any jalv2 code editing.
This IDE, named Jaluino IDE (...) is a plugin for Editra, a cross-platform
editor written in python (works under Windows, Linux, should work under OSX
but untested as of today). I want to thank and give credits to Editra author
Cody Precord, who helped a lot improving, modifying Editra, and giving
valuable support to develop Jaluino IDE plugins and make this happen.
JaluinoIDE provides syntax highlighting, code browser, autocompletion,
pre-defined commands for compiler and bootloaders, code validation, backup,
and many other features brought "for free" by Editra (code template, spell
check, rich GUI, fun,...). Beside this IDE, you'll also find another plugin,
JaluinoDebugger, which appears to be a port of PicShell debugger, brought to
you by Albert Faber (thanks !).
This release is also about the first batch order. Jaluino Medium v1.3a PCB
was produced by a professional PCB manufacturer. The result is great, as
we've been able to reach a good quality while keeping low prices. Sunish
Issac did a lot of work on this point, thank you again ! Some of you bought
one, sometimes more, distribution & shipping occurred without troubles,
thanks for your patience and confidence ! I hope to plan another batch order
soon, this time for a shield. Join Jaluino group if you're interested and
want to be informed.
Jaluino 0.2 also comes with few more libraries, shields, samples,
bootloaders, ... Documentation was hopefully improved, now including a
detailed and illustrated "Getting Started" guide. See complete CHANGELOG at
the end.
Hope you'll enjoy, stay tuned and have fun !
Cheers,
Seb
