It can depend on weird-sounding things. It could be that this error only shows up when a program is larger than 256 words AND uses table lookups or something like that. I agree it would be best to hear Kyle's opinion on this matter. It would be a pity to drop all of the baseline chips, but there are only 17 of them, and three are already dropped... Only for high-volume production the baseline has a benefit of a 20% lower price of the cheapest chip in the series. For both hobby and a bit more demanding applications probably midrange is in all cases the better choice.
