So, I am downloading james-with-phoenix-2.1a1-cvs-src.tar.gz. Should I be doing james-2.1a1-cvs-src.tar.gz instead? With my choices on James so far, this is probably true. ///;-). Thanks.

Why are you attempting to use such an archaic version of James?  I'd
suggest you use the milestone build, accessible off the main web page.
