I think the same issues for SMTPS apply - that the system
trying to commnicate with James needs to know to use port
465; I don't think this is an assumed action ...

Yes, in fact there are 2 reasons :)
1) 465 is the standard IANA port for smtps, as I wrote in
the FAQ
2) KMail seems not to recognize a smtps connexion on port
25. In fact, maybe a 
bug of KMail (I know... too bad)

Nevertheless, I'll see if I can open the port 25 with
SSL/TLS enabled without 
any problems.

Note: it could be usefull, for security reason,  to have a
"sub-deamon" 
listening on port 25 but in "receive-only" mode... what do
you thing about 
that ? Nobody wants an open relay on his mail server, isn't
it ?
