I'm sorry but I haven't had much free time to work on James as of
late... looks like progress is still being made. I went through the CVS
tree and converted every use of "servlet" and changed it to "mailet" (or
mail servlet, or anything like that). Aside from minor text changes,
this changes the mailet API slightly... getServletInfo becomes
getMailetInfo, I changed the XML conf files to use <mailetpackages>,
build.xml file wasn't referencing the correct packages for javadocs, and
various documentation changes. A few other typos here and there that
got everything building nicely.
I do like the new launcher approach... very simple and elegant to use!
Only problem I found was that the JAMES conf file was referencing the
RemoteDelivery mailet, that no longer exists in the CVS tree. I assume
this is just a mailet Federico was converting and hasn't finished yet
(the code is mentioned in the todo.xml file). Any idea on when this
might be ready to go? It seems like James is almost to the point where
I can test it.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying JavaOne (I always seem too busy this
time of year to go). I'm excited about the beta of JDK 1.3 released for
Linux (with hotspot et al)!
