James and jdk 1.1.8 (James and VAJ)

Hello Folks!

I wonder if its possible to compile james with jdk 1.1.8, because I'm
a die hard visual age user. I recognized it uses the collections
framework, which is in another package in jdk 1.1.
Did anyone try to use james with jdk 1.1.8?
