Alright, here we go AGAIN. I wasn't saying "take me as an example of French Canadian
culture" or "ask me, I come from here". Since I grew up here, I obviously had history
classes and such, in which we learned this stuff. Societies are the way they are
because of historical, demographic, etc. reasons, not because of who lives in it!

The one being hypocritical is you. You took me as a representative of French Canadian
culture the first time I answered Kevyn's mail, and based a stereotype of my whole
culture on that.

Now, please, stop making other people out to be idiots. This times it's me, but
you've done it numerous times before. I'm sure you will find something insulting to
answer that but it just seems to me that you're pretty quick to label people and their
views. Once again, you shouldn't base opinions on so little knowledge.

> It takes quite a character to volunteer yourself
> > to represent an entire culture!
> Not really. I represent my entire culture all the time, whether I
like it or
> not. Everybody does.

If anyone should take you as a representative of your culture, they
would be stereotyping your culture. My point was that Anne is being
hypocritical in the sense that she minds the negative stereotypes but
says nothing about positive stereotypes (i.e. taking herself as a
representative for french canadians).

What you said is a perception (everyone is a representative of their
culture defacto-- well duh, of course!), but what Anne said is a
declaration-- i.e. if you want to know more about why french
canadians feels <blah>, ASK ME. These two are fundamentally
different in that the latter IS stereotyping a culture to one's self.
Hence, what she says I'm doing (stereotyping), she's doing it herself.
I'm not sure where she got racist from. :)
