That was the answer I was looking for.
In IE under View - Encoder, set to Shift-JIS

I exchange e-mail with some friends in Japan and often then send
Kanji and Kana. Before, I would have to keep a second e-mail
account under Yahoo.co.jp - then forward my e-mail to that account
just so I could read what they sent me.

If they sent me a word document or an excel sheel - of something
else, no problem, because I've got the IME and Fonts installed. It
just seemed that I was having a problem in IE. Now it's OK thanks.

For the record, I like using kanji and kana better then romanji. It
removes any doubt about what words mean. Romanji is OK for sounding
out a word but and it your a beginner - we should be tollarant of
the beginners at this forum. So, I suggest that kanji and kana be
used if the user has the ability - but inlcude the romanji with it.

Thanks again..
