I would like to know about the verb "kureru", which I read is an
honorific meant to refer to in-bound giving. For example, when a man
wants to say "I bought him some tools", one would say "Boku wa kare ni
sukunai no dôgu wo katte ageta." However, if the reciving party (in
this case, his elder brother) were to say "He bought me some tools",
he would say "Kare wa boku ni sukunai no dôgu wo katte kureta".

I've heard this verb used in Japanese conversation quite often, but I
may be mistaken here. I wait for your reply. A happy New Year's eve to
all.
