Lately I've been reading Shoji Kakuko's "Japanese Core Words and
Phrases". (She's got some pretty good Japanese books, it seems.) One
interesting series of constructions I noticed includes the word "nari".
For example, "Boku nari ni...", "Kado ga akeru nari...", "Tabeta
nari...", and "Erabu nari erabanai nari..."; "nari" seems to be quite
common in Japanese idiomatic expressions. Could anyone here explain
these? I want to be sure I am using them right.
