Hi Raffi,

I set the fields height for One row only (i.e text height is 9 font size 8 and font name is helvatica ,Remove Line when Balnk True,Position Type "Fix related to Top",evaluation group = Now , Print repeated value True , Stretch Type relative to tollest object (i have already checked with No stretch also),PDF embedded True, PDF encoding cp1252....etc ).

 

      i know .....if  Stretche with Overflow is true it will fit for any height of text.

i am also aware of the property that the fields height can not be shrink if short data is coming. 

Raffi.... it is working absolutely fine in my local machine(win XP). only when we deploy the application in Unix machine where my app server runs...it is showing the blank line in case of two line of text. for three line it is working fine.

 

if any problem is related to field size it should not even work on the local machine

It is not really required. Just set the height required for single row and set the stretch with overflow peoperty to true.

JR automatically stretches the field height and

To my knowledge it does not automatically shrink if you set the height of the field to higher value and the data is short.

thanks very much for your reply.......

i am using the PDF font helvatica. There are other text fields where i am using the same font and those are working fine(and for them stretchable is false). So i think that the font is not the problem. i guess only problem in the stretchable property.

i am not saying that strechable property is not working ....it is working in case when three lines come dynamically. but in case of two lines of  dynamic data it is getting stretched as per the three lines. where two line of text display with one line of blank space.

i define the height of text  as minimum as  that Only one line of text data can be fitted. So in case of more than one line of data any how field will be stretched.

 

so my concern is why it is displaying one blank line of space in case of two lines of data.

it you say i will send you the screen shot of the PDF.

I am facing one strange problem. I am setting the Stretch with overflow property True for a text field in my Report and it is working fine in local system. But when I am uploading the application in app server which is running on Unix machine (Sun Solaris) it is not working fine. I set the height of the text field 10 and width is 572 and font size is 8. The stretch with Overflow property is true. At run time it may have 2 or 3 line of text. But when 3 lines of text come, then it is stretch properly but when the two lines of text comes …..Still it display the three line of text size .in which it displays the one blank line space.

As per the stretch functionality text should be fit into the text field it should not display the one blank line……………

Why this difference in window machine (local) and UNIX machine. Do I have to set some property so it can work same in both of the machine.

Please tell me.
