GNU Server Pages (GSP) uses a different syntax; basically, we took the
syntax in use by JWS / Dynamo / etc., implemented the basic version and
added some useful extensions (caching, automatic URL rewriting,
Applications, etc.).
GnuJSP implements JavaServerPages (JSP) 0.91 with extensions. The current
version of JSP -- 0.92 -- includes significant changes from 0.91, but it's
basically a throw-away version. Everyone implementing JSP systems is
waiting for Sun to release the 1.0 spec...
We (the GSP folks) will go ahead and implement a parser for JSP 1.0 when
that standard is available; but we'll probably also maintain backwards
compatibility with the syntax which we're using right now.
Both GnuJSP and GSP are in use in production environments, with good
results. I've heard only good things about GnuJSP, but I haven't used it
myself (other than testing it out briefly)...
