I've exactly the same problem, and I do compile mod_rewrite before
mod_jserv, at the moment I am not using DSO.

Alas even with "RewriteLogLevel 9" I get nothing in my "rewrite.log" file
to track what the problem might be.

Currently I am using Apache 1.3.3 and jserv 1.02, should any of this make a
   difference.

So any clue that could help will be appreciated, sorry if this is using up
jserv bandwidth, but isn't this an integration problem. You know having to
compile in module A before module B.
