I think I caused jserv to die in an odd way today.

What I observed is that in jserv.log I got an error indicating that a
passive socket was already in use. My servlet is a server. What I did not
see in jserv.log is an indication that jserv was being shut down. But my
servlet only allocates its passive socket at startup. So jserv was started
but not stopped. This essentially broke the http traffic until i did a
restart.

How did I do this to myself? My guess is that mod_jserv has logic in it
somewhere to restart jserv if the ZONE.properties file is changed. I did
change this file (I added a comment) at precisely the time that jserv died.

Therefore, I think that there is a bug in jserv where it does not properly
shutdown when ZONE.properties is touched.

Consider yourself warned.
