Thanks for all of your comments. I used them to help better my case and
we are now talking to a Sun rep about Solaris boxes for JServ. We will
probably use Stronghold/Linux on the first tier to run Apache.
I used the patch Jean-Luc gave me to run balanced on NT, which will
hopefully now be used only for internal development.

i'm not "the Apache guy"...i haven't done any work on the Apache httpd
server. i'm the "apache jserv guy"...two totally different products.
but, what i'm basing my statements on is having talked to the actual
apache
people about apache on nt and also having used it.
i personally use apache jserv with apache on nt to do my servlet
development...but i would never recommend deploying a heavily hit site
on NT
with Apache version 1.3.6.
