I would recommend Blackdown JDK1.1.7v3, running in green threads.
It is the only one that does not fail for me at one point or another
and using green threads is significantly faster (at least on single cpu
machine)
than native threads. Other options I tried include Kaffe (not working at
all)
, IBM's alpha version of 1.1.6 (fails on socket problems),
and Open group JDK (worked quite ok..)
