Have you tried using the IsItWorking class? I think it's included in
the root zone.
Another thing that might help is to remove the <IfConfig> and
</IfConfig> lines from the mod_jserv.conf or whatever file you include
in httpd.conf. This helped me to debug some stuff related to zones,
although I don't know why, and also helped another person who had
problems.
