We have just upgraded to JServ 1.1b1 under both Apache 1.3.9 and 1.3.6.
In our application we have used GNUJSP to perform certain error handling
using a directive like:
ErrorDocument 404 /errordocs/error_404.jsp
Until the upgrade we have been able to use HttpRequest.getRequestURI()
within the JSP handler (error_404.jsp) to determine the URL request that
orginated the error. In JServ 1.1, however, getRequestURI() now returns the
URI of the GNUJSP servlet, namely /standard/gnujsp
It would appear that the interpretation of getRequestURI() has changed. Is
the new behaviour to be expected?
It seems to me that perhaps the API spec is ambiguous in this area, since
with a processor such as JSP, the request URI could theoretically be the
original JSP page file, the JSP servlet itself (as at present), or even the
generated pagelet.
We've tried things like snooping the Apache error handler, and
request.getAttribute( "REDIRECT_URL" ), all to no avail. There is no trace
of the originating request. Does anyone have any ideas about how this might
be achievable in Jserv 1.1?
