We cannot guess what you are trying to do:
#1. Include version numbers for all software.
#2. Include relevant configuration settings.
#3. Include full descriptions of the problem.

Regarding my earlier post, got it fixed now. It turns out that the
documentation saying one can skip the apache config if one is using DSO is
just wrong. One needs to build a properly configured apxs. Sorry to give
the robot heck. <g>
