No, but, I'd rather have something simpler that is more widely
useful than something fancy that only works one way.

Your analogy doesn't fit. I didn't say you should add some capability.

It's convenient that you picked that particular example. Try this:
Try searching for "binary". It lists questions such as "How do I stop
those
fatal "(EMERGENCY) ajp12:" errors". Now how does that show the context
(the
adjacent words) of where "binary"
was found? You have to click on the
link to get to the page, and then you have to search (manually or with
the browser) to find the word "binary" on the page.
How is that any easier than searching with the browser to start with?
It's true that you donated effort to "the cause." However, if your
effort _takes away_ normal utility, don't expect praise and accolades.
(It's not clear whether you meant you wrote the FAQ contents too or
just the presentation code.)
