no. it is nearly impossible without a complete code re-write (ie: Tomcat).

no. Sun donated JSDK to apache.org so we could have the Jakarta Project.

You would be wasting your time to do so. How about working on Tomcat
instead? The more hands working towards an end goal, the better (and
smarter).
