the only JVM's with which I have not seen zombies on shutdown are the IBM
JDK118 and the Sun JDK122 final release (the RCs had other problems).

Not until we've eliminated the Blackdown JDK as the issue, or we'd just
be pissing them off. I haven't had any time to try the IBM JDK yet, I'm
still planning to post results here when I do. Of course its freely
available so anyone else who gets these symptoms with Blackdown could
try it too :)
