Hello Dough and all others,
boy, finally someone did a great work and wrote this little install-guide.
GREAT. So far I followed all steps and all compilation went well, which
perviously did not.
But... I still cannot run jserv properly.
http://localhost/jserv/ works well, but calling localhost/servlets/..
results in the usual Internal Error. The error_log of apache tells me: Can't
find class org.apache.jserv.JServ even though the JAR is there and can e
un-jared manually. All the references in the config-files are set mostly as
default and nothing shows me, why this classes cannot be found.
My apache 1.3.12 runs on SuSE Linux 6.3 and is compiled as DSO, with PHP4
activated. I used the JDK1.1.8, JSDK2.0, JServ1.1 and all in the recommended
dirs.
It drives me nuts, that this is still the only thing I cannot get run on my
box.
Please, please help anyone. I would appreciate also direct contact by email,
and if I get it run, we will extend the install guide for other newbies as
well.
Cheers
Andy
