starwars.com is a great example of a small site using Apache JServ.

CGI's are outdated 7+ year old technology.

On top of it, you work for IBM, you should already know the answer to these
questions, do you know about the jakarta.apache.org project? Do you know
that IBM uses Apache technologies for the core of your Websphere products?
