hi all,
i v a problem in starting my HTTP server.
the configuration is

os: turbo- linux (japanese)
kernel: 2.2.9 (linux)
Apache HTTP: 1.3.6
Apache JServ:1.0

the problem is

1) i'm trying to initialize the HTTP server, but it does not start at
all.there is no apachectl file. and i suppose that the installation is
proper..when i run http status, it says httpd dead but subsys locked.
there is no file in var/run related to httpd. what could be the reason.
2) Should I start a HTTP deamon before the JServ to view the servlets?
3)Also, there is another JServer called Wnn6(japanese). and it starts
automatically as the system boots. should i disable it before i start
apache httpd/Jserv?is Wnn6 compatible with Apache HTTP ?
4) Does appending the /usr/local/src/ApacheJServ-1.0/conf/httpd.conf at
the end of /etc/httpd/conf start the JServ automatically?

i am sorta rookie out here. can somebody please help me out..

thanks in advance,
Sriram
