If you run JServ in manual mode (not started by apache) then you can have a
script that launches Java/JServ, waits for it to die and then launches it
again.  No need to get cron involved at all, and you don't have the delay
between JServ dying and cron starting it back up.  Sorry I can't help you
with the exact script, but I've seen a number of them floating by on this
list.  As Jon would say, "Check the archives."
