Title: RE: does Apache supports HTTPS ?

We're currently working on solving the same problem.  The article at "Apache Week" (http://www.apacheweek.com/features/ssl) does a very good job of outlining the situation.

Because there isn't a Raven or Stronghold for NT yet, and because we're in the United States, our only option appears to be to "Download Apache and Apache-SSL or mod_ssl patches, compile, pay RSA license for RSA-patented technology, and buy a certificate or sign own certificate (however RSA may not license RSA to individuals)." (quoted from the article)

I'm in the process now of finding out about the licensing situation from RSA, and talking to Verisign, etc. to find out about certificates.  If anyone else on this list has figured this problem out, I'd love to hear about it.
