---------------------------------------------------------------- BEFORE YOU POST, search the faq at <http://java.apache.org/faq/> WHEN YOU POST, include all relevant version numbers, log files, and configuration files. Don't make us guess your problem!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all, After dancing with Google, Deja, the Faq-O-Matic, etc... for a couple of days, I ask your indulgence: Basically, on a JServ install (one of oh... 6? in the last couple of months), suddenly this one doesn't work. Here's the relevant symptoms and info: Linux 2.2.14-5 on an Athlon 800 with 256MB and Gigs-a-plenty Server version: Apache/1.3.12 Ben-SSL/1.40 (Unix) JDK1.2 JSDK2.0 ApacheJServ-1.1.2 (shared object installation) Symptoms when asking for IsItWorking (as an example) URL: http://www.fakedomain.com/servlets/IsItWorking (or /servlet/) (note no port designated) access.log: 192.168.2.4 - - [06/Jul/2000:19:16:41 -0700] "GET /servlets/IsItWorking HTTP/1.1" 403 317 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT 5.0)" error.log (this is bad): [Thu Jul 6 19:02:37 2000] [error] [client 192.168.2.4] (2)No such file or directory: cannot read directory for multi: /servlets/ I set logging to debug, but got nothing meaningful in jserv.log or mod_jserv.log. By that I mean, it starts up OK, doesn't crash, and logs *no* errors. In fact, jserv.log is empty. Permissions on both are open to nobody.nobody. ps reveals a nicely running apache and JVM. Apache serves up everything else. jserv.conf, jserv.properties, and zone.properties are default from the installation (checked paths to JSDK and JDK are OK) Furthermore, http://www.fakedomain.com/jserv/ shows everything just as I would expect it. And /server-info shows the module as well. I can telnet to localhost:8007 and get JServ to complain about garbage typed in, so it's running. Anything else I could answer? Any insights are appreciated.
