Hi all,
Note : I am sending only plain text, not HTML.
----

Para 1) We have an installation of RedHat Linux 6.1 with Apache httpd 1.3.9.

This we installed from the CD.
Now we have downloaded ApacheJServ-1_1_2-1_i386.rpm after carrying out
the foll. instructions from the www.europe.redhat.com site
Instructions begin ----

Apache JServ can be obtained from
http://java.apache.org/jserv/index.html.
>From the Apache JServ Project home page, follow the Download Apache JServ
link.
Currently RPM distributions are available for RedHat Linux. For other Linux
distributions you will have to build from source. The following example
describes how install the RPM for RedHat 6x.

Instructions end----

After downloading, we did the foll.

a) rpm -i ApacheJServ-1_1_2-1_i386.rpm

b) Stopped httpd and restarted it

It threw up an error and did not start up :
Syntax error on line 93 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
API module structure `jserv_module' in file

/etc/httpd/modules/mod_jserv.so is garbled -
perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO?

Para 2) Our /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file contains the foll. 3 lines
i) LoadModule jserv_module modules/mod_jserv.so
ii) AddModule mod_jserv.c
iii) <IfModule mod_jserv.c>
     Include /etc/httpd/conf/jserv/jserv.conf
     </IfModule>

Para 3) Our /etc/httpd/modules directory is a link to ../../usr/lib

Para 4) At our end mod_jserv.so is present in /etc/httpd/modules

Para 5) I have gone thru' the FAQ at the apache site and could not find any
info in it.

Could anyone throw some light on this ?

Thanks
Jupiter
